I have always struggled to do this on a curved edge, like a hem on a full shirt. Do you think it is possible to do that successfully on a domestic sewing machine?

I am currently working my way through the Clothes Making Mavens podcast back catalogue and loving your little segment on sewing and life. This morning I was nodding along sagely as I listened to the discussion about sewing for menstruation and menopause. Now that I am deep into menopause (I'm hoping it'll end someday??) body heat is high in my considerations for my sewing!

Thank you for the video. I have used this foot but struggled when I got to seams. It hadn’t occurred to me that I could hem then cut out.
Sometimes you need another person to do the alternative thinking for you. I will give it a go.
Aly what you do with this foot and a shirt is to hem the front and back and then do the side seams. Works great.
Thank you so much for this video! Your tips solve the problems I've had in the past when I tried to use this foot. Doing it in the flat is smart, but doing it before you even cut the fabric out is brilliant!! You don't have to worry about distorting the shape of your pattern piece!! I absolutely love the short, single-subject videos. Thank you again! :-)
Yesterday I ordered a narrow hem foot for my machine, after playing with the one on my Grandmothers Bernina from the 1950’s, then today I found your post on using the hammer before seaming garments, brilliant!! I still feel like it would be cool to be able to do the hem in a circle, at least if that becomes too much for me, I know there is an alternative.
I also ordered a flat fell foot...are you planning a video with one of those??? (Nudge, nudge 😁)

I have tried and tried to use this foot and it has NEVER worked. Your method - immediate excellent results. Thank you! FYI - these videos send me to eBay - I just bought the blind hem foot :) Laurie
