I am a mother, a grandmother, and a teacher. But whatever happens in my life, I keep sewing. I have worked as a political communicator and now as a teacher in my formal life. I have also written extensively on sewing. I have been a frequent contributor and contributing editor of Threads magazine and the Australian magazine Dressmaking with Stitches. My book Sew.. the garment-making book of knowledge was published in May 2018 and is available for pre-order from Amazon

Quick YouTube video

One thing I do to promote sewing is make sure the girls in my life have machines. You never know.

When I was in California I left one of my vintage Berninas with my DIL and this week I am giving another one to my niece.

Of course they don't have me to show them how to use these machines so I got this maniac idea to do some YouTube videos for complete beginners for them to see.

Here is one I did just now on how to thread a sewing machine.

Hope I hit all the basics!
