About me

My photo
I am a mother, a new grandmother, and a teacher. But whatever happens in my life, I keep sewing. I have worked as a political communicator and now as a teacher in my formal life. I have also written extensively on sewing. I have been a frequent contributor and contributing editor of Threads magazine and I write a monthly humour/sewing column for the Australian magazine Dressmaking with Stitches. My first book Sew.. the garment-making book of knowledge will be published in May 2018 and is available for pre-order from Amazonhttps://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=barbara+emodi&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Abarbara+emodi

Thank you

I have recently learned that this was one of the blogs listed in Madalynne's Best blogs of 2016 in the funniest category.

I had no idea I had been nominated, so thanks to my friend Carolyn who justifiably won in both most inspirational and best basics categories, for bringing this to my attention.

Just for the record though.

I don't think I am particularly funny, but I sure do think life is, particularly the view from the home sewing table.

Thanks for reading.

I think you are definitely one the of the best blogs I read(stalk) with a way of seeing the humor in a lot of life's situations. I want to be like you when I grow up....in a few years.

Congrats! I, for one, think it's well deserved.

actually I would have gone with inspirational vs funny......from the "how to approach life" perspective.

Oh, I protest! You are seriously - very funny. Your writing of common life "happenings" is so comical and enjoyable to all your readers. Keep 'em coming. Karen

Dear Barbara I think even more often than you make me laugh, you make me think. And you do make me laugh a lot. The sewing is a bonus. Your blog is a gem.
