Now I have done a lot of sewing, and messed up some pretty weird projects over the years, so to tell you the truth not sure what I would do in this category.
Gloves? Dog coats? I am going to have to think this one through, and add to it the criteria that it actually would be something I either want or need. Might be a time for rut jumping.
Now question for you.
What would you make if this challenge was tossed to you?
Deviating a bit from this I have been thinking a few personal, if not now whens might be in order.
For instance Stylearc pants really fit me. As a result me and Mr. PayPal have been quietly collecting a number of Stylearc pant patterns.
A couple of days ago I got this crazy idea that maybe I should actually sew a bunch of these up to see how they turn out.
Sort of radical an idea I know but hey why not?
Additional random thought.
On the subject of the decluttered life and super organized dream sewing rooms maybe there are some of us who don't actually need or like it that neat, particularly in process.
Am I the only one who throws things over her shoulder in the thrill of the chase or sort of enjoys the nice surprise of finding strange and/or forgotten things in their very own house?
Some pretty heavy things to think about tonight.

To me the chief joy of reading the Sunday paper is tossing each section on the floor after it's been read. Ah, such a pleasure.
My messy sewing room is a sign of my vast creativity at work!!!!! I can't think of something I haven't seen!!! There must be something????
My sewing challenge would be a button down shirt. So many things to master; fitting a woven (knits hide a multitude of fitting sins). Then collar and stand, sleeve plackets, and cuffs. So much precision required! And then my old nemesis: buttonholes.
I think I'll set the bar a little lower. Maybe a skirt with buttonholes...
Great post--as for the challenge: my daughter's neighbor just asked her to sew costumes for her Guinea pigs. For a guinea pig pageant. Honest. AND there are patterns out there just for guinea pigs. Mind you she's in Honolulu--but still. This might be something new for you :-)
an umbrella. A local quilt shop was offering a ridiculously priced class for this, but I bet it's very do-able with just the frame and an umbrella to reference to. Could get very creative with the fabric and details.
You have me stumped on this topic of something I haven't sewn before. Bras, men's suits and coats, gloves, doggie attire, umbrellas, bathing suits, everything home dec, quilts, and art quilts, slippers, hats, lampshades, dolls, purses, done them all. Guess I can't join your group.
I've come to my Zen on the studio in chaos. It has to be chaos to create and when that project is finished, I clean up and start a new chaos. Creativity doesn't happen in a vacuum. I'm O.K. with it. Does your kitchen look like the magazine pictures? NO! So why should your sewing space?
1. a period costume - say, something Elisabethan, or Italian Rennaissance.... oh, you didn't mean something Halloween related?
2. a circleish: half/three-quarters/whatever circle skirt or dress with same - just because full circle skirts look awful on me and I'd love to get a version of one that might look good
3. bias-cut dress. Have one made by someone else and it fits like a dream.
