I am a mother, a grandmother, and a teacher. But whatever happens in my life, I keep sewing. I have worked as a political communicator and now as a teacher in my formal life. I have also written extensively on sewing. I have been a frequent contributor and contributing editor of Threads magazine and the Australian magazine Dressmaking with Stitches. My book Sew.. the garment-making book of knowledge was published in May 2018 and is available for pre-order from Amazon

Quick update

I have been off the blog, but in my life lately.

We are leaving for Florida Thursday where I can work distance and my husband can hopefully feel better in warmer weather. It will be great to get those hips done. I have a day left to do too much tomorrow but at least was able to get a lot of work done this last week so I can go.

All that aside my mom was just here for 10 days too. She once again displayed her world class ability, at 87, to play cards, bingo, and games with small children for about 14 hours straight, every day. Children have always been her mission in life and are still what she enjoys doing most.

Here is a shot of her with the little girls in full swing, in mid tea party:

That's probably it for me for a few days but there should be lots more blogging time once we are south.

Think of me on Friday when I will be racing around the garment district collecting swatches for my wedding folks sewing.

I will just be so glad to leave these concrete snowbanks, these ruts of ice in the middle of the road, the sound of the trees cracking in the night,  but I will miss these folks above.

More later. Lots more.

I don't want to read about your Florida adventures, I want to be IN them. :-) Let's try to get together while you're almost local to me.

Take care. The conditions along I 95 in Virginia and South Carolina may be tricky over the weekend. Wish I were going to the garment district, though in my case I'm better off solo.

Aloha,
Fabric shopping, that is an idea. Buffet for the eye balls.
Enjoy Florida, sew something colorful
