I well remember when Nancy began her career on PBS. I was thrilled to be able to watch a show about sewing! A beautiful lady, in every way, leaving a legacy for generations.

She was a legend and an inspiration to anyone who sews. Gone much too soon but has left a remarkable legacy that will continue to teach generations well into the future. We are all indeed fortunate to have learned from her at some point in our lives. RIP, Nancy Zeiman.
Thank you for this tribute and this photograph. Yesterday I was in a Joann fabric store. Around the checkout counter were a cluster of young women sales clerks, and I asked them if they had heard that Nancy Zieman has died. They looked blankly at me and said they didn't know who she was. I glanced back across the aisles and saw only older women customers. . . . Broke my heart just a bit to realize how deeply NZ impacted my generation and how unlikely these women are to ever encounter anyone with the zeal, the skill, and the grace of Nancy Zieman. Especially from a free television program that was consistently the must-see-TV of my whole life. I've recorded and watched every single program of hers that was available to me. . . . . I am so very, very sad that she is gone.
Barb,you introduced me to Nancy, her PBS program and her books, when I moved to Halifax twenty-five years ago. I knew from the way your spoke of her that she must be someone vey special, indeed. How right you were. Thank you. Your photo is a touching tribute. So many of us will remember her when we sew and use one of her tips.
RIP, Dear Nancy. I always remember you while I do my pattern adjustments.Your method keeps the original pattern intact and I love that. I learned so much from you.
What a beautiful picture. Nancy Zeiman will be missed. She was such a big influence on the world of sewing. May her family take comfort in knowing how much she was loved by the sewing community. Carol
I learned about Nancy Z when i was a new immigrant. I watch her show on PBS in the afternoon after my college classes. Her show helped me to cope with a new world. Sewing was not in my mind at the time. She was calm, cool. To me, she radiated serenity, and peace.
I always enjoyed her show. It was a wonderful break from the kids, full time job and general commotion of my life. She inspired me to try new things and made sewing interesting again. She will be missed. Barb from Prince George
Nancy Zieman's warmth, humor, and curiosity about people shows in every episode of her TV program. She is my first and only sewing hero. I feel so sad that the earth has lost her presence.
I, too, have watched Nancy's programs and shopped her catalogue for decades. I have a few of her books and a couple of videos.I still use her technique for applying skirt waistbands. I shall miss her grace and style.

I really feel like I've lost a sewing friend. Nancy made me feel like I could sew anything. Thank you for posting this. Very sad day. :-(
