It was either the earrings or a pair of polar bear pants.
Now the thing you need to know about my husband is that if it is nutty it is also probably true and something he really is considering.
Polar bear pants, he explained, are made from the limb hides of polar bears, yes that's right, two arms sewn together.
"But they would be incredibly warm," he said. "Great for winter."
And here I was worried that elastic waist linen pants would make me look fat.

ReplyDeleteOne of the best "fights" we ever had was when my husband rolled over in bed and said ( after 25 years of marriage) and said " Gee, I never knew your eyes are blue", The rest is history as they say!!

Hot Damn! I could use a pair of those when the temperatures are hovering -30 degrees C, taken down a notch while the wind is blowing something fierce and I'm outside watching the kids during recess duty. But I must say, the earrings are quite lovely and could go with more things. Happy Anniversary! And nice to read Miss Daisy is doing better this morning.

You never know though, could be he next big fashion must have, like those Ugg boots. Who'd have thought they'd be so popular. Your earrings are lovely and I'm glad Daisy is improving and your flower girl dresses are the biz. But those polar bear pants... Too funny!

ReplyDeleteWow, what a relief to hear that Miss D. is feeling better, it seems to validate the wait and see approach you have been following. As a plunge in type myself I can imagine how hard it has been not to drive hell bent for leather (what ever THAT entails) to the vet hospital for relief RIGHT NOW.

No one would EXPECT you to look slim in a pair of polar bear pants (kind of like puffer jackets) whereas linen pants should make you look tall and slim and as if you are just walking off a yacht on a Greek island. With tanned skin and those flat sandals with a toe thing that feels like your foot is being sliced in half with a piece of wire.
ReplyDeleteI know this may be a downer after all the giggles, but I fear the polar bears were attached to their fur too. Maybe your husband can purchase a few yards of faux polar bear fabric and you can make some pants and a hat for him.
ReplyDeletePatsijean could not agree more. I don't sew with leather (I have my own skin) or would ever wear fur. That said in a different environment, where the Inuit kill the bears when necessary for self protection not sport the situation is different. In that harsh environment the concept of big game, sport hunting is absent. Wish that was the same in the south.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I learned two new things today. The earrings, and polar bear pants. Lol, I had to confirm with my husband about the first and show him the second. He had been in Alaska, on business, , grow up in Michigan. Yet, he did not know about the pants.
Being from South America I guess you could say I am clueless.
