Geez, the original hipster

This article was published in our local paper today.  For those of us who were sewing when it wasn't cool it's so good to see new sewers sign up.

  2. I took the dreaded sewing class in 7th grade and failed miserably. My mom sewed and so did her mom. I just didn't think I had it in me. Fast forward 40 years, now sewing and creating has become the focus of my 'semi-retired' lifestyle.

  3. Barbara! I loved the article. Isn't it wonderful that custom clothing is coming back? Whew! I was worried for a few years. I don't think I've ever commented on your blog. I am a lurker. :-) I really, really like 4 blogs, yours is one of them. Your sewing, family, dogs and work life stories are enriching. I love your blog voice.

  5. Yep we were cool way before our time! I'm a fourth generation seamstress, as far as I can tell my Great grandma had a hand in teaching me to sew...and awe the memories!

  9. Tsk tsk. Young people today. It's like they think they invented sex or something. Like we weren't doing it all along. :)
