Fellow sewer Lisa has put together a great Flicker tutorial on making a collar with a stand.
As she doesn't blog but is sewing along with us I thought I would post the link here
Lisa this is so helpful, thank you so much for going to the trouble to do this.
LisaB's tutorial is outstanding! I picked up so many tips. I can't wait to get a sewing hammer. Everyone needs a sewing hammer, eh?
ReplyDeleteHey, Robin! I use my sewing hammer a lot! I first learned about them from Kathleen Fasanella in this post. http://www.fashion-incubator.com/archive/tools_and_supplies/
ReplyDeleteA hammer really comes in handy for flattening seams that you need to cross over when hemming, etc. I loved how flat it made the collar and stand.
Been there; done that; have the wadders to prove it too!
ReplyDeleteIt happens and unlike your son-in-law, as sewists we simply get over it.
Ummmm my comment was supposed to be on the post about the snowsuit. I don't know what happened that it ended up here.
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial. Thanks ladies.
