Hurricanes and photos

I am not sure how long I will be online today, Earl is pulling the leaves off my trees outside and my DD just called to say her power is out.

I have been thinking about my blog and last night decided, enough already with the lousy pictures. I really should do some little self-education and learn how to do this better. I started last night finding Blogger helper information and this weekend am going to learn how to use my husband's much better camera. Bear with me and expect to see one thing learned a time on each photo.

If any of you can direct me to good places to learn more about this, that would be much appreciated.

Oh on the sewing front. One dress to post and the next two skirts in the works. One interesting, one boring but necessary.

Later, storm willing.

  1. I would love to learn more about photography, too. I have a simple point & shoot camera. All I do is try to keep my hands as still as possible. I also take pictures with and without flash, so I can select the ones that turn out better. Then, in the picture editor software, I crop, re-size and play around with the settings for brightness and color and whatever else seems "off". Oh - and I use a screen-shot software called "Snag-It" which allows me to capture images and add special effects, like comments, lines & arrows. I have found it to be very user-friendly.
Stay safe!! I hope you don't lose your power. Earl has left us with beautiful weather here today.

  2. I will be reading the comments closely because I've been thinking the same thing lately that my pictures could be better. I'm just not sure that I'm ready to invest in a more expensive camera to achieve that...maybe learning to use my point and shoot better.

Hope you make it through Earl safely. He graciously skipped NJ so hope he's kind to you too!
